Whew...

Gee, with all the work at Peds, homework, housework, and work blogging and rewriting descriptions for Red Hill General Store, I haven't had time to keep up with my own blog or with Etsy... I'm hoping that I won't have quite as much homework this weekend and I'll be able to make some jewelry and get it listed.  Its been crazy busy in my life lately.  That and making time for The Boy, who is amazingly supportive with all my work.  I couldn't do it without him that is for sure.  :)  Speaking of, here's my current fave pic of The Boy and me:

Busy day

Well, there's lots of updates.  I am now officially divorced.  Yay!  I just got back from the hospital, my best friend had some hemorrhaging after having her baby over a month ago.  She had to have an emergency surgery, she's doing better now, but I'd greatly appreciate it if you would send good thoughts her way.  I have a 2nd job (in addition to being a clerk in a dr.'s office, being a full time student, and trying to do jewelry on etsy on the side) I love this job, I am doing some writing from home for redhillgeneralstore.com  it is an awesome company, and they offer just about everything online and in their actual brick & mortar shop.  The people are great and I love to write so its a match made in heaven.

Another bit of good news...I won a poetry contest, details at this blog: http://blog.accentuateservices.com/2010/10/14/1412/comment-page-1/#comment-2493

Hopefully things will calm down a bit and I can focus more on my jewelry and on my loyal blog followers.  Until then, I'll try to keep you posted :)

Orange Peel, Asheville, NC

Date:  October 15
Time: 8:00 (we arrived 9:30)
Location:

When we arrived the first band had just finished playing, the lights were back up and the crowd was milling around, talking, drinking and being amiable towards one another.  We checked out the t-shirts, posters, visited the necessary facilities and worked our way as close to the stage as we could manage.
The lights began to dim, and people began squeezing their way towards the stage.  You could hear the soft murmur of the crowd, chatting, and hushed with anticipation.  Movement on the stage, no lights there yet, hard to tell if it is Grace Potter and the Nocturnals yet, or just the sound guys finishing prep work for the show.  A strum is heard, whoops are yelled off from the crowd, then the lights ease on and the band is coming onto the stage.  A brief moment of silence and expectation before the crowd starts to go a bit crazy.
These are fans, you can feel it in the atmosphere, and when the first notes are played, and Grace's beautiful voice begins to let loose, you can't help but to get swept up in the atmosphere.  It starts in your feet, the floors vibrating with the music, which works its way through you, every fiber of your body is filled with it.  And fan or not, you join in, the triumphant cries when your favorite song is played, dancing, clapping and stomping with the rhythm.  And that voice, oh that voice, how it will melt your soul.
From just minutes before 10:00 until nearly 1:30, we were regaled with music and vocals that cause you to have goosebumps, to laugh, to cry.  Then GPN says goodbye, and leaves the stage, we will not let them go, shouting and stomping fill the building, ears are ringing from the noise that is nearly louder than the music had been, voices calling out GRACE and ENCORE.  Then they reappear, we go wild, cheers so loud we can barely hear the music when it starts, but once it does although we have been standing for nearly 3 hours, and are exhausted, we dance harder, shout louder, and give it our all, we will enjoy every last moment we have with our beloved music, then as the last note fades away, we drag ourselves back to our vehicles, our feet sore, our hearts happy, and our adrenaline pumping.  This is what a night spent with Grace Potter will do for you.

Holidays are just around the corner...

I'm sitting here in class, the teacher is out today, just waiting for tomorrow to get here.  I absolutely cannot wait until the Grace Potter and the Nocturnals concert tomorrow night.  It cannot get here soon enough.  Hopefully I can get my camera to work a little better and can get some good pics to post.  I wish my financial aid check had gotten here beforehand, I really need a new one, especially a less bulky one.

I cannot believe that Christmas is just 2 months away.  I need to get started on my gift buying.  If ya'll want I wrote an article on creative gift ideas.  Go check it out by clicking HERE.

Well I guess I should probably get started on doing something constructive.

Great day!!!

Sorry I haven't posted recently, been super busy with school and work.  I think I did great on my speech today though and that makes me feel awesome.  I also got some great grades on other assignments in other classes.  Received a bit of good news from Red Hill General Store and just enjoyed the warm weather.  I'll share more about the good news at a later date once I figure out how exactly it is going to work :-)  Also the concert is coming up this weekend.  The Boy, Shel, Beck, and a few other people are going to go see Grace Potter and the Nocturnals on Friday down in Asheville.  Good music + good friends = Great Times

And as always, MORE COWBELL!!!

Hacker House

Went to Hacker House with Asher tonight.  We had a blast.  Her boyfriend, Evan, was working, so of course everyone knew our names and some of the actors were shouting it from ahead to lure us down certain paths.  I had fun messing with some of them using my own "monster" voice.  Awesome night overall.  We'll def. have to do it again sometime.  I would love to be one of the actors there.  I think it would be amazingly fun to scare people and just get to dress up and be all crazy.  Maybe one year when my life is a bit calmer and more settled.

Work is still stressful.  Still dreaming about a job where I could be creative and relaxed and just enjoy work and life.  I know work is never fun all the time, but sometimes it'd be nice to not dread getting up in the morning.

Going to spend the rest of the weekend memorizing my experience speech.  I'm thinking about once this semester is over using some of my speeches and essays as topics on Helium.com and trying to make a little extra off of that site.  Love making a little money off of my writing.  I would write whether I did or didn't, but that just adds a little extra bit of satisfaction to my day.

Shout Outs and Updates.

Starting off with tonight's post giving a shout out to Red Hill General Store.  The owner graciously did an interview with me for a school project, and I was amazed at how far they have come since I worked there back in High School, and my first go round at college.  You should visit their website at http://www.redhillgeneralstore.com they have just about anything you could think of and then some.  The staff is friendly, and the prices are reasonable.

Update, the Jewelry Presentation my small group did turned out very well.  Our group came in 2nd, but we had a lot of fun, and I got to work with some wonderful people.  My Power Point class finally started, and we have a few projects which will be a bit more work added to my already stressful life, but I think I will still enjoy this class.  I get to be creative in a few ways, which always makes me happy.  Work has been stressful to the point that I've been nearly in tears and physically shaking every day on my way home.  I love the people I work with, but we need to figure out a way to lighten the load.  Or else I'm going to have to go to a Dr. and get put on some meds or something.  This much stress can't be good for someone.  I wish I enjoyed my job again.  :(

I have to work this weekend, but hopefully after I tackle all my homework in the evenings I will have time to  make some new jewelry and get pics up and stuff listed.

Thank you to all of my readers.
